How to Lighten Your Skin
Healthy skin is more important as well as the most beautiful skin tone. Follow these steps to create a healthy glow.
Steps
- Avoid exposing your skin to direct sunlight. Use sunscreen (20 SPF +) heavily to protect your skin and help retain its tone.
- Drink plenty of water regularly.
- Use an organic Papaya Soap particularly Likas Papaya Soap. Using it regularly will whiten your skin. Lather it to your skin for 3 minutes. It may cause dryness. If this happens, you may apply lotion after taking a bath.
- Base your diet on many fruits and vegetables.
- Wash your face to keep it clean.
- Use some good skin whitening cream. Lemon juice with a bit of yogurt once a day is an excellent mild bleach.
- Use turmeric: grind up "face turmeric" with olive oil and chickpea flour
- Pour some Milk into a bowl, grab a towel dip it in the bowl and rub it generously around your face. Milk is a natural skin bleacher.
- Take a vitamin supplement such as Grapeseed Extract for anti-oxidant or Fish Oil or Flaxseed Oil which contain Omega 3. It is good for the skin, hair, and nails.
- Cut a lemon into 2 halves. Rub it gently on your face and neck. Wash it after 10-20 minutes. Doing it regularly will cleanse your skin and slowly start lightening it.
- Exfoliate. This will get rid of the old. tanned cells and make way for new, paler cells!
- Take a look at chemical bleaches. Bleaches consist of fading creams which are common and can be purchased in most drugstores, harsher prescription skin bleaches such as hydroquinone, monobenzone . Hydroquinone is the only FDA approved skin-lightening ingredient and it literally bleaches skin. Retin-a and Tri-luma both contain tretinoin which increases the rate of cell turnover thus exfoliating pooled pigment in the epidermis.
- Take sunscreen with the highest SPF you can find and squeeze it on your hand.
- Take your finger or a sponge and dip it in the sunscreen.
- Take either your finger or the sponge and apply it your face. When applying do it in small sections at a time. Really work it into your face.
- Make sure to apply evenly to all of your face. Don't forget your neck.
- Once all of the sunscreen is evenly applied on your face and neck, get some baby powder.
- Take the baby powder. Squeeze some into a plastic cup or container.
- Take a cotton ball or sponge. Pat it in the baby powder.
- Apply to face, section by section and in very small light amounts. Do not put on to much all in one spot. It will look very fake.
- Rub the baby powder into the skin very thoroughly. You want it to look as natural as possible.
- Put enough on to get your desired affect. Don't go too crazy or you'll become a clown
- Make sure everything looks blended and even and go show off your new pale clean and clear look.
Tips
- Using masks made from flour, or finely ground grams [pulses], can make your skin shine. Just add some milk, apply on skin and wash after 15 minutes.
- Milk is a natural skin whitener. Apply milk on your face. Wash it after some time.
- Use lemon juice.
- Use turmeric
- Use Lemon with water
- Use orange peel powder with milk and honey.
Warnings
- Skin-whitening creams can damage the skin if left on for too long, so use with discretion, and make sure you follow the directions.
- While using any cosmetic product, if you feel irritation in skin, stop using it. Always prefer good skin products.
- Do not use products containing hydroquonine, as it may cause cancer as a long-term health effect.
- Note: Hydroquonine has not actually been linked to cancer in humans. In lab studies, a couple of rats got cancer, but they were also eating the chemical. It's found in hundreds of products and thousands of people have used it for years. Here is a quote from an article on TheBostonChannel.com: "The FDA admitted that the risk of using the drug is not known and more testing needs to be done.
